The key concepts of our vision

Perenity

Our goal is to provide a pleasant, stimulating and safe living environment for adults with ASD/ID when a residential resource other than the family is required. Our aim is to provide quality support throughout our residents' lives.

Personalized approach

Every adult living with ASD/ID is different. The way we support them is personalized from one person to the next. The need for support adapts to each person's progress and changes according to circumstances.

Learning Center for adults with DI

Learning Center for adults with DI is a central part of the village. Accessible from every building, and associate to every actions on the Market place.

Trained staff

Our staff are trained to understand and communicate sympathetically with our residents. All staff will be trained in both conventional training and the American SON-RISE method.

Intergenerational

Parents can live in the same building as their child if they wish. Adults with ASD-ID know that their parents or family members are not far away.

Public-Private

To be fair at all times, the public portion finances the building that houses ASD and ID tenants and low-income parents, as well as the associated services. The private portion is financed by parents who wish to buy or rent apartments in the shared or adjacent building.

Replicable

The most time-consuming part is to create the model, improve it and document it, so that other developers can have access to all the documentation and draw inspiration from it.

Shops and activities

On the first floor, we imagine workshops open to the public and local businesses, to live in and with the community. We're planning workshops and training courses, depending on the region where the Maison is located.

Technological innovation

We use the best technologies first and foremost to promote the well-being and evolution of our residents. What's more, technology will enable us to communicate better and reduce risks and operating costs.

About our project

A tough but necessary challenge

In Quebec, the number of births to children with an intellectual disability (ID) is around 1.8% of all births, of which 50% have an intellectual deficit making them dependent on a structure. Thousands of places to be created for the 20-100 age group between now and 2030.
It won't happen by itself. All the elements exist to make it possible, but we need to coordinate our efforts to make it happen. This is the aim of Le village de K.

Three hectares close to town center in the region between Sainte-Anne des plaines and Saint-Placide ( in discussion with towns) have been totally redesigned, with 300 new homes, a new 2,500 m2 covered market, a learning center, three new squares including a public garden, a 600-space underground parking lot replacing surface parking, and 5,000 m2 of new shops including a three-screen cinema. All with a contemporary architecture that respects the local style.
