Projects in the project
To build the Village de K several projects are being carried out in parallel. Some are 100% public, some 100% private, and some public-private, funded by the public and donations to the K Foundation.
The indoor market
The aim of the market in the village square is to provide a focal point for life in towns, where the different generations of the village, as well as the different members of the village (known as villagers), can meet and talk together.
Numerous jobs accessible to adults with DI as well as to the less active generations, as well as to people on social welfare, will be offered by the businesses that come to the market.

3 cooperative housing estates with 100 apartments each
The project comprises 3 almost identical buildings. Each on one side of the village square in K. Each building comprises around one hundred units, according to the financing rules of Quebec housing cooperatives. These apartments will accommodate, for a third, adults with intellectual disabilities, or other disabilities. Whether for year-round housing, or respite care for several weeks. These apartments and their residents will benefit from security technologies (Czame) and last-minute assistance (NotifV). One third of the residents in each building will be dedicated to people on low incomes, such as single mothers with adult children with ID, and one third of the homes will be dedicated to elderly people on low incomes.
Inclusive shops will be located on the second floor, with window displays on the square.
Services 24h/24h for every person who needs help will be fulfilled.
Multi-purpose hall
The aim of the multi purpose hall is to enable people to see films in good conditions, but also to prepare theatrical plays between villagers and local residents, trained by professionals, and activities.
One private building
To enable families, friends or anyone exceeding the minimum income to live and own property in the village, a building of 100 condos will be built in the village.
